Energy Vortexes: Sacred Places Where the Earth Breathes

Sacred details of the healing space

Many people can feel the energy of a space — how it “feels” or the vibes it gives off. Some places on Earth, known as vortexes, have especially strong energy that can speed up your spiritual growth. A vortex is a spot where energy either enters or exits the Earth, moving in a spiral.

While we can’t always see this energy with our eyes, sensitive souls have felt it for thousands of years. Ancient peoples built temples, shrines, and sacred sites on these places long before anyone had words for what they were sensing. They simply knew: the Earth breathes here.

What does a vortex feel like?

Every vortex is unique, but visitors often describe a tingling in the hands, a sense of lightness or deep calm, sudden emotional release, or unusually vivid meditation and prayer. Where energy flows upward and out of the Earth, people tend to feel energized and inspired. Where it spirals inward, the feeling is often deeply grounding and introspective — a natural place for releasing what no longer serves you.

“The heart is the most important. Listen to your intuition and let it guide you.”

Where are vortexes found?

Some of the world’s most famous vortex sites include Sedona in Arizona, Mount Shasta in California, and sacred places like Machu Picchu and Glastonbury. But powerful energy isn’t limited to famous destinations. Smaller vortexes and energy flows exist everywhere — including in and around the spaces where we live and work.

Your home has energy, too

Just as the Earth has places where energy gathers and flows, your home and workplace hold energetic patterns of their own. Over time these can become blocked or heavy — like weeds growing in a garden. This is the heart of my home and business clearing work: cleansing the accumulated energies of a space and correcting its magnetic grid, what I call spiritual feng shui, so the energy flows in harmony with your purpose.

How to work with vortex energy

If you visit a sacred site, go gently and with intention. Walk slowly. Breathe. Set an intention for what you’d like to release or invite in, and let your intuition — not the guidebook — tell you where to sit and how long to stay. Give thanks before you leave. The Earth’s energy responds to reverence.

And remember: you don’t need to travel to Sedona to grow spiritually. The most important sacred site you will ever tend is the one within your own heart.
